"Friendiversary" at the Eric Carle (Feb. 1)

File this under "sweet events for local book-lovers."

Amherst's Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art is partnering with First Book to host a FREE family day on Saturday, February 1.

Friendiversary, a celebration of friendship and reading, will feature costume characters Elephant and Piggie from Mo Willems’ award winning book series, Newbery Honor artist Grace Lin, and storytimes, films, exhibitions, and art activities—all surrounding the theme of friendship.  [Click here for a schedule of the day's events.]

Peter Pan Bus Lines is providing free, round-trip transportation to the Museum from Holyoke and Springfield. (Seating is limited. Call 413-658-1126 or email katem@carlemuseum to reserve.)
You can pack a lunch or enjoy food by Foley's Franks.

The first 500 children will receive a FREE Elephant and Piggie book.
