Artist-in-Residence Chris Demarest!

Saturday, July 20, 10am-12pm
The Woodbury Room of the Jones Library

Artist-in-Residence Chris Demarest began working on a visual tribute to the Greatest Generation over two years ago at the Women’s Memorial at the gates of Arlington National Cemetery. Inspired by a single black and white photograph of a WW II fighter pilot, this traveling exhibit now encompasses over 70 portraits of veterans. Demarest’s hometown is Amherst, making Amherst the logical beginning of the national tour of the exhibit. His father, a C-47 pilot, is one of eight Amherst WW II veterans whose portraits hang at the Jones Library.

This event will include a Powerpoint presentation of the photographs, paintings and stories surrounding the exhibit. The public is encouraged to share their stories, photographs, and artifacts.

For more information, please contact Chris Demarest at 603-306-1949.
